Hosts China, P.R. and Korea, Republic scored a second win on day two of the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Asia/Oceania Group I event to stay top of the table and remain in contention for a place in November’s Play-offs

Asia/Oceania Group I: China and Korea remain unbeaten in Changsha
The Chinese team were ruthless in their disposal of India on the second day’s play in Changsha, with Wang Xinyu defeating Sahaja Yamalapalli 6-2 6-3 before world No. 7 Qinwen Zheng swept past Ankita Raina 6-0 6-0 in one hour and three minutes.
 
Guo Hanyu and Wang Xiyu capped the perfect performance for the hosts, sealing a 3-0 win with a 6-1 6-1 victory in doubles against Rutuja Bhosale and Prarthana G Thombare.
 
In her two singles matches, Zheng has dropped just one game spending just over two hours on court.
 
The other unbeaten side after two days of action in Asia/Oceania Group I is Korea, Republic, who overcame Chinese Taipei 3-0 thus making them the only side with a perfect six wins from six matches played.
 
New Zealand picked up their first win of this year’s event with a brutal 3-0 win against Pacific Oceania in which the Kiwis dropped just one game across three matches.
